It was good to be amongst people again, even if it meant she had to play that God-awful game with Bobby. Bobby was cute, too. He was certainly no Logan - would never even be in the same league of Logan - but he was nice to look at.

{Thanks, kid.}

Rogue smirked, twisting the handle on the table soccer and sinking a ball into the goal. Her opponents didn't have a chance.

Success.

A familiar scent entered her nostrils. She had played down other aspects of her gifts - she would operate best if they stopped worrying about her - but the sense of smell was one thing she was never going to get rid of. She wouldn't let it go away.

Logan was leaving. She'd known it'd happen, and she also knew he'd try to do it unnoticed. That wasn't going to happen. Abandoning all thoughts of Bobby and the game, she ran over to him. "Logan!"

He stopped by the door, turning to face her.

She paused scant feet away from him. Definitely a good time to tease. "You running again?"

He fidgeted, fumbled, and murmured some excuse she didn't really pay attention to.

{Aww, shucks Logan. There's your shy side.}

{Ain't pretty, is it?}

She almost laughed.

The Logan she was looking at was playing with her hair; specifically the white streak she loved so much. "I kinda like it," She told him, practically fluttering her eyelashes in her attempts to look innocent. Then her forthrightness came through. She wanted him to stay, and told him so.

He barely hesitated before pulling off his dog tags and wrapping them inside her hand. She understood the significance, and smiled.

{Pain. Pain. Pain. Cold. Naked. Flesh. Confusion. Nothing. The memory of darkness. Metal against skin. The only things that told him who he was.}

{Gee, Logan, you sure are a sweetie.}

{Shut up, Marie.}

This time, after the Logan she could see had left, she did laugh. Looking down at the dog tags, she span happily around.

{That's all right. That's all right. I've got you inside my head you bastard, and you're not going anywhere.}
